I started to take landscape photography when I was back in 2002. It was with a Olympus 3040, 3MP smart Media card camera. At the time, the internet didn't have many tutorials and articles and it was pretty much a struggle. Having later study film, I really felt that digital helped me more on getting better at composition and developing an eye and not so much with technical stuff. In fact I still dont know much about tech.

Most shot here on Deviant art are taken with either my D80 or my D700. The D700 has been for more of the recent shots. I own a wide and a prime portrait lens. Various tripods. A really crappy flash and lots of camera bags. I have one for every occasion. Stealth vs nature vs urban.

Gilad Benari is my favorite Urban photographer. He tells stories with his photos like no other.

Sadly, I haven't really found someone that has a landscape portfolio that blows my hair back. bryan-cuttance, EbruSidar, and genr are close but I haven't yet found my favorite. Should go check out their stuff, really inspiring.

I think this has been the best architecture photo i've taken so far, Regardless of its sharpness.

The fact of the matter here is that I wanted to express monumentality to an extreme. Time passes, but the tower stand. Empty streets and not a single person around yet the world seems active, these towers stand on its own. Center of city, but yet not the center to anyone's life. Man have created such architectural wonders but they are nothing but reminiscence of our financial powers and dominance. We've given into big corporations and large authority figures. In the end, no one really cares about them as they stand alone in the skyline with no one to sit around to understand the representation of their temporal existence.

You have to look closer to it to really understand why its an unique image. The 2 people are anonymous because their eyes are blocked by the patterning. Its looks like the ceiling but its really the ground. All of this goes back to the idea of perception.

Our experience of the world is mainly made of our senses and how we perceive them. According to en.wikipedia.com, In philosophy, psychology, and cognitive science, perception is the process of attaining awareness or understanding of sensory information. “Is the glass half empty or half full?” serves to demonstrate the way an object can be perceived in different ways. Another example that interacts with us visually is the Necker cube or the Rubin vase. Is the cube seen from above or below, is the vase actually 2 faces? James J. Gibson, an American psychologist, explains in his early work “perception-in-action”, the notion that perception is a requisite property
of animate action; that without perception action would be unguided, and without action perception would serve no purpose. Animate actions require both perception and motion, and perception and movement can be described as “two sides of
the same coin, the coin is action”. Photography however does not capture movement. It
captures the perception of movement through blur and multiple exposure. The way we view it allows use to distinguish something that’s flat and inanimate to have depth and speed. The world we experience in photo can be described as 5% realty and 95% perception

I wont state what happen. They are pretty easy to imagine all the things that could have gone wrong.....

the most difficult question. I've always been good with details, even from a young age (im still pretty young at heart). But I've had a huge interest in trying to put life into something that cannot speak. ARchitecture and landscapes have been my favorites to take. I've taken plenty of people pictures, but they are almost always my instrument to explain how a space works. I guess I'm trying to tease the "life" out of the "lifeless" .
